Queensland Funding Program


The 2016-17 Annual VET Investment Plan provides a breakdown of the VET investment budget, a high level summary of the VET investment programs, and the priorities for government within these programs. 

List of funded programs

Certificate 3 Guarantee
The Certificate 3 Guarantee provides a government subsidy to allow eligible Queenslanders to obtain their first post-school certificate III level qualification.

User Choice (apprenticeship and traineeship funding)
The User Choice program provides public funding for the delivery of accredited, entry level training to apprentices and trainees.

Higher Level Skills
The Higher Level Skills program provides a government subsidy to help individuals gain the higher level skills and qualifications required to secure employment or career advancement in a priority industry.

Fee-free training for Year 12 graduates
Fee-free training is available for Year 12 graduates through two Queensland Government VET investment programs - the Certificate 3 Guarantee and User Choice.

Skilling Queenslanders for Work
Skilling Queenslanders for Work is a suite of targeted skills and training programs supporting Queenslanders to gain the skills, qualifications and experience to enter and stay in the workforce. Funding is primarily available for community-based not-for-profit organisations. Registered training organisations with pre-qualified supplier status will have opportunities  to partner with funded community-based organisations to deliver the nationally recognised training and assessment components of Skilling Queenslanders for Work projects.

Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS)
Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) focuses on delivering qualifications to provide school students with the skills and knowledge required for employment in specific industries.

Indigenous VET Partnerships
The Indigenous VET Partnerships invests in accredited training and assessment services that will improve employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders cross the state.

Industry Pre-apprenticeship program
The Industry Pre-apprenticeship program provides Queensland industry with an opportunity to partner with government to prepare potential tradespeople for work in priority trade occupations.

Trade Skills Assessment and Gap Training program
The Trade Skills Assessment and Gap Training program aims to assess the skills of experienced individuals who can demonstrate substantial competency in a priority trade qualification and provide gap training of no more than one-third of the competencies to complete the trade qualification.
